Memie has spent over 30 years exploring, studying, sharing, and performing the art of belly dance. Her background also includes ballet, tap, jazz, latin, swing, and salsa. She teaches in Danvers and Salem, MA. In addition, she’s a published author and quoted belly dance expert in many magazines and newspapers.
She’s been a certified BDT instructor since 2010. She has also completed Keti Sharif’s A to Z certification.

Since becoming a certified belly dance instructor in Taaj’s BDT program, Halaki has been teaching for 4 years. She has instructed at the International Baccalaureate World Music Symposium held in Langley, B.C., taught classes in the Lower Vancouver Mainland, held winter workshops in California, and has performed at various functions in Mexico, British Columbia and the Yukon Territory. Halaki currently lives on Thetis Island, B.C. where she teaches Gypsy-style Belly Dance and is the artistic director for the troupe, Gypsy Dancers of the Salish Sea.
